Ca Hurong Nuron—Red snapper marinated with house special sauce, wrapped in foil and grilled to perfection
Cha Glo—Spring roll; served with mint and lettuce
Pho Tai—Rice noodle soup with beef-eye round cooked medium rare
Ca Kho To—Salmon cooked in a clay pot with caramel sauce
Canh Chua Do Bien—Hot and sour seafood
Com Suron Bi Cha—Barbecued pork chop, special steamed egg cake and shredded pork; served with broken rice
I honestly don't know how this place has so many stars. The food is downright gross and I've had vietnamese food before.

the Chicken Curry Soup & Papaya Shrimp Salad are amazing!
Posted a month ago by Christopher B.
my favorite Pho broth in all of NYC. they use anise and never skimp on the veggies (ie. bean sprouts, lime, jalepeno--- note, other resto's don't include that, basil and a few other extras). the other stuff like Bun (vermicelli bowls) aren't amazing... but it's still worth ordering!
Posted a month ago by Julie T.
food is tasty and delivery is fast. house special fried rice!!! and house special rice noodle, beef cube over rice, papaya shrimp salad...all good

Didn't bother to ring the doorbell and then called to tell me they couldn't deliver! Manager was rude and couldn't understand why he should credit my account for an order they didn't deliver.

I had the BBQ pork chop w/ Special Steamed Egg Cake, Shredded Pork & Broken Rice - it was to die for. And the Rainbow Iced Cold Drink is really fun for bubble tea enthusiasts. :-)

Pretty sure my chicken was undercooked. Portions big. Nothing special....have a feeling I should have ordered something more typical. Bun or Pho instead of this other elaborate dish.

awesome spring rolls!

I recently moved downtown and have been looking for some fresh takeout food options. I've been disappointed so far until now! The food from here was very fresh and tasty (and surprisingly affordable given the quality!). The Pho comes with separate containers for broth, cooked items, and fresh items (mung bean sprouts, basil, jalapeno, lime), which is very smart. The summer rolls themselves were just right, except they could use a more fresh/flavorful dipping sauce, then they would be amazing (hint for the restaurant). I'm giving it 5 stars because this is by far the best take-out option I've found in the neighborhood so far. (But if I find better, this would probably become a 4-4.5).

Food was really good. Delivery was on time. And the price is pretty good for the Financial District.

Food is great. But please package the pho bo noodle soup in a plastic container not paper carton. It was messy trying to eat this in the office.
Posted 4 months ago by Jennie C.
i ordered the spring rolls which were just lumps of pork, no other contents. i also had the vietnamese crepes which were also just lumps of pork. all in all, i really didn't like the food.

This place is fantastic. The Pho is where it's at!
Posted 4 months ago by Madison B.
This restaurant is a little inconsistent and they recently raised prices. However, lately, the food has gotten a lot better than when I first ordered. I usually order the well done beef pho and noticed that the pho broth is a lot better than before - much more authentic than Pho Viet Huong. I also liked the Rainbow Iced Cold Drink and the spring rolls were quite interesting. Sometimes, I actually get a craving for their beef pho, which means that they're doing quite a good job.

Great portions and prices, haven't gotten my order wrong, prompt delivery (given their distance away from my office), and the phos and buns and spring/summer rolls I've had are all very tasty. Love this place!

Pretty good Pho. Needs to come with more cilantro, sprouts, basil, jalapenos, etc. Maybe try offering medium beef with rare as well.

The food and customer service here are great- amongst the Vietnamese options in downtown nyc, this is one of the best. The pho is good, well spiced, bun is tasty and fresh. Best of all they have the little spring rolls with the light rice paper, not the bubbly egg roll looking ones. They forgot my spring rolls in my delivery and they were kind enough to add in an extra portion when they redelivered. Recommended!

Terrible. My vege soup had a piece of beef in it. Summer roll was dry, tasteless. Will never order from here again.
Posted 8 months ago by Luca S.
This is the perfect inexpensive option for a cold day! We always order the House Special Rice Noodle Soup which is tasty. The portion is large and they provide lots of bean sprouts and Thai basil to boot. The spring rolls are crispy and the dipping sauces delicious. Definitely worth at least a try!
Posted 9 months ago by Priscilla S.
Just ok.....portions were good but definitely had better noodle soups. Beef cubes and pork chops were good. The other mains could use more work.
Posted 9 months ago by John W.
They're normally great (and the summer rolls were tasty), but tonight they delivered me a large chicken with chili lemongrass sauce dish with no accompanying rice... disappointing and impractical.
Posted 9 months ago by adam m.
Pretty Good food, specially the Pork chop over rice, or beef over rice, best dishes! I tried the Chicken Curry but wasnt too thrilled ,it was just greasy curry.
Posted 9 months ago by Gerald L.
Order arrived within quoted delivery time so delivery was good. Beef & Mixed Vegetables with Pan Fried Egg Noodles (Mi Xao Don Bo) was good (noodles were good, beef and vegs tasty). Barbecue Pork, Shrimp & Spring Roll Bun (Bun Xe Lura) was ok(not bad but not as delicious as I would have liked based on the food description. Beef Steak w/ Fried Rice (Com Chien Bo Steak) was not good at all - rice was a little mushy and steak was very chewy (and not in a tasty or yummy way, beef not great quality so would not recommend it to anyone). So overall that's why i say 3 out of 5 (will consider ordering from here again but will try other menu items next time).
Posted 9 months ago by Maria P.
love the barbeque beef over rice, beef comes in nicely marinated strips and when you mix the whole thing together it tastes delicious. the rice itself has this really nice texture. the egg noodles weren't really what i expected. they were kind of greasy and crispy but when you mix it in with the beef and vegetables the noodles soften and it has a really nice bite to it. food comes pretty quickly too

Big fan of this vietnamese for lunch and having lived in LA for almost a decade, I know my vietnamese. I've always gotten the house special PHO- if you're going to order vietnamese food and NOT get pho, why even order at all? The soup is great: rich broth, lots of veggies and good quality meat. Try to stay away from the tripe, seriously- I don't know one person who likes it. but to get the house special and omit the tripe isn't right, you need the entire experience.

There have been very few Asian restaurants I have come across that offer the level of quality and service that Xe Lua offers, and despite the fact that my order is delivered, it always comes with a note from the management with their phone number in case you need to voice any concern. I order from them often, and their food has always been a step above the rest. The quality of the ingredients alongside the pricing of their dishes makes Xe Lua a true gem.

Solid Pho, quick delivery - the noodles never get muchy and the meat stays fresh. Shrimp & Grapefruit Salad is a great app, bright and fresh, though the main entrees outside of the Pho are a mixed bag. Stick with the soup, you won't go wrong.

The food was great. Had the raw beef noodle soup and the beef cubes. Broth came separately from the noodles, beef, and other vegetables, but when it was mixed in, it was delicious. Order of beef cubes tasted great as well. Delivery was quicker than the estimated time on Seamless. Will order again.

The pho is excellent and I love that they bring extra hot sauce. The green papaya salad is a little bland - too much lemon juice and not enough fish sauce in the dressing and cut a little too finely (more than most places). Very prompt delivery but sometimes they forget things...

Always a speedy delivery (within reason) and the food is simply the best there is in the city. Super fresh and authentic this place is my staple! Highly recommended. The very few times they have messed up my order (I order at least a couple of times a week) they are super professional and correct the issue right away. A seamlessweb dream.

Fantastic food and a good price. I honestly have been to alot of Vietnamese places in my life and to get this quality out of carryout is rare. We haven't found a dish that isn't at least very good. Would recommend to any and all.

Service was a little off. No confirmation email, so I had to call the restaurant, obviating the best part about Seamless Web (in other words, could have just called and ordered directly). Delivery person had wrong address, called and was very courteous but lost. Food was extremely bland and watery. Would not order from this place again.

Love ordering from here. The best Nuoc Cham (Vinegar Fish Sauce) I've tried in the city. I'm from the south so I like my Nuoc Cham sweeter, but this still has a good punch. Always quick and efficient.
Posted a year ago by Jonathan T.
To be fair, the food I ordered was tasty, not amazing but good, typical Vietnamese - but charging $10-12 bucks for dishes and not including rice? Shame on you! $2 extra for rice when almost every other similar restaurant in NYC includes rice with the dishes... At least let people know ahead of time, it's the least you can do if you're going charge extra for rice, and the size of the portions are small. I know the economy is not good but rice is inexpensive, make your customers happy and include it!

Food is Chinatown average so it is definitely above the average in downtown. I am very impressed by how they take care their customers. They accidentally missed one item for the first time we ordered; however, the manager gave full refund on the entire order (the order was relatively big, for about 7~8 ppl). For his kindness, we ordered again the following week, they sent us all the food on time and also brought us sodas on house, we were very impressed and will definitely order again.

Pho is delicious, fantastic broth and it comes with a TON of toppings. It is however a very large portion, you will not need to order anything alongside the pho for lunch. I also tried the grilled porkchops over broken rice but was not impressed. Dry, no sauce, and tons of rice left over. Xe lua is a great addition to delivery for the bowling green area.
